God Speaking

I'm reminded lately, more than ever, that God speaks in mysterious ways.

For me, it's been through the death of a loved one, through my little girl, through the little life growing inside me, through a wonderful husband who loves the Lord, through nature, through his blessings and provision - day by day. I could go on and on.

God is good. His ways are perfect. He is perfect. Don't forget to remember that.

I have to say.....props to my hubby.....for two reasons. He took me on a Shamazing date this weekend AND he showed me the following video. I have been encouraging him to put it on his blog, but he hasn't yet, so I'm sharing it with my 2 readers. Reagan misses you Daddy! She has been talking about you all day.

She wanted to make you soup for lunch and now she's talking about making you some hot chocolate. I keep trying to explain to her that you're not coming home and we're going to see you at church....then she just wants to take the soup and hot chocolate to you.

Who knows?! Maybe we'll show up at your office later.....hot chocolate in tow. We love you!

Shifting Focus

We are not participating in the Advent Conspiracy, however, I do like the video and the idea of changing our "Christmas spending habits" a bit.

I am a gift giver. I love buying things for people (and myself). Maybe it's just that I love shopping. Nevertheless, I want the most important thing that we communicate as a family to be Christ and his saving grace.

Who cares if the cousin I drew loves her new sweater......she is lost....she needs a lot more than a sweater. Oh, that my focus would shift from giving earthly, temporal gifts to sharing the best gift of all, Jesus Christ! So I'm looking for creative ways to do that in our gift giving this year.
