There Were Never Such Devoted Sisters....

A younger sister is someone to use as a guinea-pig in trying sledges and experimental go-carts. But she's also someone who needs you - who comes to you with bumped heads, grazed knees, tales of persecution. Someone who trusts you to defend her. Someone who thinks you know the answers to almost everything.
Pam Brown

I'm the younger, guinea pig....and oh, how it's true - I need my older sister.

These beauties are Cori and Jake. My sister and brother-in-law. Oh-how we love them. They've lived far off for years now. They've lived in Mississippi for vet school then Colorado for residencies and now Northwest Arkansas is their settling ground.

When we are together, our fellowship is sweet, our bond is in Christ Jesus and we have some great times.

They have two PRECIOUS little girls.

Piper Laine...

...and Sophie Grace

I love those little girls like my own.

Cori is a part of me.

Growing up - I never left her side, even though at times she hated it. She even accidentally backed over me with our golf cart one time because I was just tagging along too closely. We had many screaming fits and frustrating conversations as teenagers.

I can tell you, though - she was always more wise than I. She matured fast - and I still haven't matured. And she has been kind to not rub that in, because she's kind like that.

I miss her so much it hurts sometimes.

When she loves - it's with all of her being. I could learn from her sweet heart. She is an example of a godly wife and mother, she has shown me forgiveness over and over again throughout the years, and though we don't see each other much - when we do - it's like she never left my side. I love her with all my heart and thank my God when I think of her.

And wouldn't you know - I can't find a recent picture of just Cori and I. Because where we are - Monica isn't far behind. More to come about that baby, you know, cuz she's the baby and all. :)

Jake - Cori's hubs - is a VET (smarty pants). He is a good man. He takes care of my sis and their kiddos so well and he loves the Lord. He's been a rock for Cori in so many ways and I love him.

On the side, he makes beautiful music.

I was so refreshed by it today.

I love hymns made new again. I love acoustic. I love his voice.

Pull up his site at the link below - go to music - and let it play while you make dinner.

You will be blessed.

You were in my shadow always, and I am a better person for it!! YOU pushed me to be the best i could be because you wanted to be like me, well until we were teenagers and fought to be our own person! I love you little sis and am sorry for running you over with the Golf Cart, the enormous Metal Golf Cart. OOPs!!! And now I am learning and striving to be as Great a Mom as you!! You have taught me more than you know since becoming a mom. Your children are beautiful and you are raising them to be Children of GOD!! Thanks for all the sweet words you spoke about my family, and just know that I echo the same about you and yours. I miss you too and am looking forward to visiting you again soon. Love you always.
